craxy distraxies

sometimes i think i have A.D.D. i can rarely focus on anything i'm doing by myself for more than a few minutes lately. it's like i always need to have people around--so they can distract me. i secretly love distractions. when i'm writing papers--supposedly a very individual, lonely activity--i go on msn or take breaks reading and commenting on blogs because i need to feel "connected" to others. msn is a huge distraction when you're trying to write a paper. so why don't i just sign off? (or not let it automatically sign on in the first place when i turn my computer on). i don't know. even if i only talk to one or two people (or none), i stay on through the whole paper-writing process because i just like knowing there are others out there. weird. maybe it's like my subconscious, invisible support net. and look! yay!!! dalyce is messaging me!

the first word of the title of this blog, "craxy," is my new word. the meaning shall remain esoteric (for the elite and initiated :-P). Jill is craxy today. i was yesterday. i think it's a cause of my A.D.D. --too much pent up unfiltered crazy/craxy ENERGY. sitting at this stinkin desk doesn't help. double chocolate chip cookies don't help either. and now joel's not msging me back :-(. i guess i've done enough procrastinating. back to Rosenzweig on other religions. whoo hoo.

brittany, i'm going to address you directly because you were waiting for another post. sorry this one sucks (and is so stinkin craxy). (i got 70% on your quiz though :-P--consolation!)

if anyone reads this, is simultaneously on messenger and sees that i'm online at the time....you're MORE than welcome to do me a huge favour and be a distraction. i.e. MESSAGE ME. :-D

There once was a girl named Ames,
who loved to play medieval games.
She never did post
on the blog she did host,
and I can't think of a last line that rhymes.

ASLAN REIGNS!

"Not all who wander are lost" ~J.R.R. Tolkien

“The Bible…does not release the Christian community, especially those [sic] gifted for the task, from the grind of studying and thinking about such matters.” ~John Peck, Uncommon Sense

Rational thought is the servant of faith: “Unless thou believe, thou shalt not understand.” ~Saint Augustine of Hippo

"If we ignore our culture we will be destined simply to reproduce it and those who are wedded to the spirit of this age are destined to be widowed in the next." ~Dean Inge as quoted by Dr. Craig Bartholomew

'Love bade me welcome, yet my soul drew back, Guilty of dust and sin. But quick-ey'd Love, observing me grow slack From my first entrance in, Drew nearer to me, sweetly questioning If I lack'd anything.

"A guest," I answer'd, "worthy to be here"; Love said, "You shall be he." "I, the unkind, the ungrateful? ah my dear, I cannot look on thee." Love took my hand and smiling did reply, "Who made the eyes but I?" "Truth, Lord, but I have marr'd them; let my shame Go where it doth deserve." "And know you not," says Love, "who bore the blame?" "My dear, then I will serve." "You must sit down," says Love, "and taste my meat." So I did sit and eat.' ~George Herbert, Love III

I am 41% Geek.
Geek? Yes, but at least I got social skills.
You probably work in computers, or a history deptartment at a college. You never really fit in with the "normal" crowd. But you have friends, and this is a good thing.
