too disillusioned to be dangerous

Humble boldness--for Jesus; in sharing the news of the Cross; in declaring the Word of the Lord. It is beautiful. It is shocking. I am inspired, challenged and encouraged.

Praise God for people who live their lives in humble submission and bold assurance of the salvation and the power they have in Him.

The following is also quite profound (it is Adam Harris' response to Joel's "Disillusioned" post). May we have ears to hear:

"I am convinced that there is something about this university - or, more likely, something in the sinful human nature going unchallenged at this university - which fails to advocate piety and fervency as core factors in every Christian life. Christianity is NOT a state of mind or a set of cognitive responses. It is a heart battle, which you point out so well. Justification is instantaneous, but sanctification is anything but! Every day brings a new set of blessings from our Father, but every day is also brings a new barrage from the kingdom of darkness. How can we stand against this? It is painstakingly clear that humanity cannot. It is clear that the only power stronger than darkness is the Light, Himself, Jesus Chrsit. It seems to me that the only way to be effective in creation is to be in love with the Creator... but first we need to realize that we CANNOT do it alone. Only then will we turn to Him."

We are often bold in our secular lifestyles and attitudes and "humble" in exuding Christ's love and sharing His truth. What's gone wrong?

Let us pray for chains to be broken, hard hearts to be softened, eyes to be opened--and that there would grow in us a hunger and a thirst so deep and consuming for the Lord of the Cross that nothing but Jesus could even temporarily satisfy.
