teetering...what is right and what is easy
I was teetering on the edge
The cliff was steeper than I remember
The ground was rockier and more precarious
And the jump looked fine
The fall would be a thrill-ride
And I would never have to wake up
To illusions and confusions
The stuff of my waking nightmares
Ever
Ever
Never
Again
--I would be living them, the nightmares,
that is.
So what was so appealing?
The end of struggle.
I would strive no more
I would be burning
Tormented
Abandoned
Imprisoned
But at least I would no longer have to fight
--You coward.
What ever happened to the ideal of knighthood?
It flew off with my childhood dreams.
There are some that still remain
Those dreams
Teetering on the edge
Ready to be blown by the slightest breeze
One foot on ground; one in the clouds
My left toes better be planted in something solid
Cause my other foot is a rocket
Flying out of the thermosphere
Propelling its way to Mars
Or the astro-belt of some distant galaxy
Where no one knows
My shame
I NEED A ROCK.
"I am the Cornerstone."
I NEED A HERO.
"I came down from Heaven to save you from yourself."
I NEED A FATHER.
"I love you as my own."
Foundation, Salvation
In exaltation
I bow.
I concede.
--I step back from the edge.
"Dark and evil times lie ahead, Harry. We will all be faced with the choice between what is right, and what is easy."

I understand your battle with reality and security, God is indeed a Rock, our Father, our King.
You have a beautiful gift for words and feelings, Ames
You are always in my thought, in my prayers...
life is sometimes on the edge of a giant cliff..free falling or on eagle's wings we soar even higher--it's all for His glory!
love you a whole lot :)
